Just Let Go . . .

spiral.gif

"When people use the term hypnosis, they are generally referring to accessing the subconscious mind. Even though we all access superconscious mind through the subconscious, way too many hypnotists are hung up on limitations present in the subconscious mind (their own and that of a client) and completely disregard that each individual truly does have access to the INFINITE resources from the superconscious mind.

There is only ONE MIND - which is for the sake of convenience and understanding divided, according to its functions, into three minds: conscious, subconscious and superconscious.

I find it necessary to discuss the difference between the subconscious and the superconscious mind in order to stress the importance of accessing the superconscious - especially when desiring to reach the goals that a lot of people consider impossible or place them into a category of miracles.

Subconscious mind, in spiritual literature referred to as soul, is the repository of your previous learnings and experiences, of your beliefs about the world. It is the storehouse of all your thoughts and feelings, which together release a VIBRATION. In turn, this VIBRATION through the LAW of RESONANCE attracts into your experience everything that resonates with your beliefs.

Superconscious mind, in spiritual literature referred to as God, or Universal Mind, is the Source of all power, all knowledge, all love, peace, it knows of no time, nor space, it has no limitations.

Superconscious mind is omnipresent, ONE MIND expressing through all, and each human mind is only an individualized center of consciousness of this ONE MIND. Contrary to the popular opinion, your mind is not in your body, your body is in your mind.

Whatever limitations you are experiencing are strictly due to the limiting beliefs you hold in your subconscious mind. The way to overcome them is by aligning your conscious and subconscious minds with the superconscious mind. You do this by being willing to let go of your own beliefs about yourself and the world around you and opening yourself to the information, the power and the love flowing into "your center of consciousness" directly from the superconscious mind. In spiritual literature this is often referred to as surrendering to God.

Here's what happens in this process of surrender. Imagine that your individual self is a drop of water, while the superconscious (God) is the ocean. When you surrender to it, when you merge with it - you have access to all the attributes, to all the power, wisdom, and love of the ocean. When you feel the surge of this power and love running through your body, you may even feel overwhelmed with love or gratitude and may even find yourself crying. You may also experience some strange symptoms in your body as your body is adjusting to be a conduit for more power.

The process of engaging the superconscious mind is often referred to as de-hypnosis - the goal is to de-hypnotize yourself from the limiting beliefs you accepted about yourself and your relationship to the world around you.

During traditional hypnosis or hypnotherapy sessions - you'd work with a hypnotist or hypnotherapist on one specific issue at the time - an issue that is presenting a challenge for you. The process generally consists of changing the beliefs you hold in your subconscious mind regarding the specific issue. Some hypnotists may also attempt to help you get rid of the problem by providing guidance to help you get into a relaxed state and then just repeating over and over the direct suggestion which is meant to help you get rid of the problem (e.g. for weight-loss, "You're slim now", or for smoking cessation, "You're a non-smoker now"). Since this approach does not deal with any possible benefits you are deriving from your current challenge (secondary gains), the effectiveness of this approach may be questionable.

If, instead, you chose to engage in the process of de-hypnotizing yourself and engaging the superconscious mind - even though you may not be directly focusing on any specific issue, you may discover that the challenges you were facing before simply begin to fall away. If you were having a weight-problem, you could experience an inner urge to engage in activities and nutrition that promotes your ideal weight. If you were having a challenge with substance abuse, you could experience that any desire and/or need for the particular substance has simply vanished without any withdrawal symptoms.

You access the superconscious mind through your subconscious, so the process of accessing it is the same as accessing the subconscious through hypnosis. The difference lies in what you do next. Instead of pounding more of your own suggestions and beliefs into your subconscious, you open yourself to the experience of ONENESS.

You begin by putting aside all of your previous beliefs about yourself or about the world-around-you. Then:

Stop for a moment and just think of the allness of God or Primal Cause with no beginning or end, with universal scope, and surround yourself in this. As you become faithful and worship this, and this alone, ONE GOD, ONE ALMIGHTY PRESENCE - you will find that the vibrations of your body will change from the human to the God or Primal vibration. As you think, live, move and become one with this vibration, you do worship; and what you worship, you idealize, you become.*"

Hong Kong Heartbeat

what is beautiful ?

this week's heartbeat is delivered with
the palette of colors packaged with life.

after days and days of grey skies and rain,
a blue sky looks a particularly striking blue.

after getting used to seeing smog instead of skyline,
it is remarkable to see lantau from my soho rooftop.

the city is normally a blur of concrete and glass
and suddenly i see bright green everywhere i look.

the rain has blasted this place a shade of clean
that i don't remember seeing in my 13 years.

are these things more beautiful today
than they were only yesterday ?

or did i simply not even notice them
in my rush to get from here to there.

the summer's heat has slowed me down
and the rays of daily sunshine are delicious.

an old woman's face cracks into a smile
when i nod a simple hello into her eyes.

nothing beats the sound of a baby's giggle in
the usually silent descent from 27th to ground.

the pace has slowed with summer's
traditions of vacation and travel and play.

many have escaped the concrete trap
for visits abroad with family and friends.

there is something unique about this place
that draws me and keeps me connected.

it seems as though i really live in the world
because my friends are from all parts of it.

heartbeat is just one degree of separation from a
space station resident who emails one of our readers.

now in the news i hear of miracles and solutions
in place of tragedy and conflict and ongoing dissent.

did my world actually become
any more beautiful ... or did i ?

where do you see your beauty ?

naturally,

One Jules

"You don't look up in the sky and see six billion planets and galaxies, and not realize that life is eternal. We're not made up of just this little body. There is a Soul which is eternal. That's what we have to look at first. Second, you have to be doing spiritual practice.

. . . Practicing 24 hours a day is when that consciousness of your Source never leaves your mind. Whatever you do - when you make a mistake, speak harshly, or are insecure - you're still conscious of Source.

. . . One thing about religion and spirituality. There is only God in the universe, everywhere, in everything, and in you. You are one with God. God is everywhere; God is everything. You can know it by knowing, listening, by praying about it, by asking for what you want, because God is always the creator, and the creator has to always create by asking: “What do I want now? What do I want to create now?” That's your job, the life of prayer, of looking to see what it is and where it is and how it is you want life to be for you, and asking for it, and then seeing the chips fall where they should. Everything lines up according to what you think, feel, and ask for, which is what true prayer is. Do not spend a day, let alone an hour, let alone a minute, without praising loving and thanking the cosmic God Source, the Prime Creator, Jehovah, Allah, whatever name you call that Source - being in tune with that, and saying "thank you, thank you, thank you - thy will be done." The Will that you want done is your highest aspirations, your highest love. Never let a minute go by without being in tune. So that's the answer to the question, “Do I ever worry or think negatively?”

. . . It's the fear that has to be gotten rid of, not what you're afraid of. When fear goes, then you become a stand-up person and look at life squarely in the face and in the face of any adversity or negativity, and say, "I will drop the fear." Just as you dropped the attachment, you drop the fear. But you know, we are addicted and attached and habituated to fear. We seem to have our compass needles set at the dark zone, the soap opera of life. Get off'a that!

. . . Drop the habit of caring about anything or anybody, in the sense that you are disposed to a.) chortling manifestations of sympathy, or b.) buying into their "poor me" sad act, and c.) being the broker of change, and as their personal wand-carrying angel, helping them to find joy, and d.) thinking there’s a laurel wreath for your head when you’ve done that. Helping others is impossible. The only way you can help another is to get them to release their problems, emotions, unhappiness, suffering, and grief, and listen to their inner God Voice. It’s more about making them let go of the screens to vision. Once the screens are gone: they have eyes, they will see it daily.

. . . When you get up and go to bed, just clean your aura. See yourself vibrant, healthy, wealthy, and wise. See by visualizing abundance that you are the creator of everything you could possibly want. And visualize exactly what you do want to create, how you want the physical reality to look. How you want your physical body and your life, your bank account, every detail of your life, to be. You envision it exactly that way, already done, already having been completed in the matrix, in the mind of yourself. In your own mind, you see it. And you affirm it. And you invoke it. And you speak it, and react that way, act that way, look that way, talk that way, not as a dilettante, not as a pretension, worry, or anxiety about it. Not as a windbag, but as someone who walks with the dignity, vibrancy, courage, and energy of one who has all these things that you would have, in the fullness and the completion of knowing it is already done, already yours. And you practice. It's the same image of being a musician, sculptor, dancer, actor, architect, or policeman that you see yourself being that, then by practice, and doing the things necessary to groom yourself and perfect yourself, creates the perfection of that particular thing, creates the mastery of that particular thing. Without doubt and without fear, without interference, you will be able to create and accomplish anything, because that's our only goal. And our only purpose is to have harmony, happiness, abundance, and be the most creative we can be, and to produce the greatest good for ourselves and everyone throughout the planet and universe.

. . . Wake up thirsty to start your work, intoxicated to be doing it, with a yearning to start again each morning. To be able to perform the talents that you are innately born with, practice every day, every hour, every minute possible, so that you see the advancement, and you feel the ecstasy of accomplishment and mastery.

. . . When I talk about how easily I do 10 hours of piano practice a day, it will generally stop conversation. People stare in horror. But it inspires artists. I've had great musicians tell me, "After I realized you could do that, with no sense of time passing or boredom - which you conveyed to me - I find that I can do it too. I've evolved, thanks to that remark you made." But who shares intimate details of one’s passion, or on the practice of one's art?"

Why Do You Work So Hard?

"Call it the cafe question. Any given weekday you can stroll by any given coffee shop in the city and see dozens of people milling about, casually sipping and eating and reading and it's freakin' noon on a Tuesday and you're like, wait, don't these people work? Don't they have jobs? They can't all be students and trust-fund babies and cocktail waitresses and drummers in struggling rock bands who live at home with their moms.

. . . And we look at them and go, What is wrong with these people?

. . . But the truth is, God, the divine true spirit loves nothing more than to see you unhinge and take risk and invite regular, messy, dangerous upheaval. This is exactly the energy that thwarts the demons of stagnation and conservative rot and violent sanctimonious bloody Mel Gibson-y religion, one that would have all our work be aimed at continuously patching up our incessant potholes of ugly congenital guilt, as opposed to contributing to the ongoing orgiastic evolution of spirit.

It is not for everyone. It implies incredibly difficult choices and arranging your life in certain ways and giving up certain luxuries and many, many people seemed locked down and immovable and all done with exploring new options in life, far too deeply entrenched in debts and family obligations and work to ever see such unique light again. Maybe you know such people. Maybe you are such people.

But then again, maybe not. This is the other huge truism we so easily forget: There is always room. There are always choices we can begin to make, changes we can begin to invite, rules we can work to upset, angles of penetration we can try to explore. And if that's not worth trying, well, what is?"

Around the Medicine Wheel

This is a continuation of yesterday's journal entry.

Our creation of the Greenfield solstice monument was documented on film by Susan of Franklin Media. Look for it on DVD or perhaps a cable channel near you.

Meanwhile, I thought I'd try to remember what happened . . .

The Center

We began our journey by consulting the stones to determine where to begin. Using his pendulum, Peter found to his surprise that the Northwest stone wanted to go first, and that the Western stone was next; so we were proceeding counterclockwise around the circle. This seemed to coalesce with the spin field in nearby Shelburne Falls, the center of an equinox ceremony several years earlier (see the picture below), as well as the spin field off the Stellwagen Bank.

The first stop in the center of town was to pay some bills: an acknowledgement, perhaps, of the industrial motivations at the heart of Greenfield, going back to the Pocumtuck fishery at the Great Falls of the Connecticut River prior to their massacre by the European settlers.

We found ourselves circling the town common, and pausing for a while to notice the monuments installed there: an eagle facing north, a cannon facing south, and a marker to the 4 directions. We noticed that we had parked right behind the director of the local access cable channel. Church bells were ringing as we rolled away.

Next we drove around the true center of the circle at the Middle School, and proceeded off to the Northwest.

Northwest

The first green fields visited were the girls' softball diamonds. Peter used his dowsing rods to locate a grove of oaks where the monument was planted. While the softball fields had been noisy with highway traffic, we were greeted in the quiet grove by the rhythmic tapping of a woodpecker.

Thanks were given to the 4 directions with prayer flags in the colors of white (North), black (West), red (South), and yellow (East). Four tobacco pouches, also in the colors of the four directions, were buried with the marker in a bed of sage. Prayers of invocation were offered, with more sage and tobacco, for the guidance of Spirit and the blessings of the Ancestors and the Whales, upon the activation of the medicine wheel and the honoring of World Peace and Prayer Day. We were off to a good start.

West

The next stop was past the green fields of the Community College, where the geometric pattern of the parking lots suggested a location well hidden under a green canopy of leaves in one of the meridians. Birdsongs greeted us here. The monument was planted with prayer flags and offerings of sage and tobacco.

Southwest

Who knew that right alongside the interstate exit 26 was a lush patch of skunk cabbage growing alongside a little creek? The next marker found it's home here in a grove of trees, with the sounds of flowing water. The energy here seemed quite chaotic and driven, much in need of the healing of graceful flow. A stick appeared in the shape of a snake, which fit in snuggly against the stone.

South

This was a place of fire. We found ourselves walking along a trail at the edge of a golf course under high voltage electrical wires and the heat of the solstice sun. We ventured into the woods on the far side of the field, where we were greeted by some giant stinging nettles. Greg pointed out a variety of vegetation that suggested the plants were working overtime to cleanse the stray electrical charges from the air. After locating the monument site, which was near the original colonial settlement in Greenfield, we were pleasantly surprised to discover that someone else had preceeded us with a nearby stone mound, a nice affirmation.

We were all rather drained after that hike, and in need of some lunchtime refreshment.

Southeast

Here we parked near the train switching yard for a long walk down a wooded trail. This was a nice antidote to our last walk, except for the greeting by swarms of mosquitoes and nasal diving bugs. This trail was the site of a former train track, marked by steel plates stamped with the name "Carnegie", which led onto an abandoned train bridge. We followed the river bank to the point where the Deerfield river flows north to join the southbound Connecticut.

Three stones marked this location with a pyramid. The three directions of the rivers were reminiscent of the shape of the Tibetan swastika (associated with the sacred mountain Kailash). The sound that greeted us here was the rustling of wind in the trees. This was a place of spiraling movement, and of flowing in new directions. With each stone placed along the way, the power of the circle feels like it's building.

East

This was the scene of a driveby monument: another golf course, but with no place to park near the chosen site. We tied prayer flags and medicine bundles to the stone, and tossed it into a wetland area. It sounded like it contacted another stone, and birds flew around it in greeting.

Next we stopped to pay homage to the spirits of those indigenous women, children, and elders massacred at the Great Falls. This is now a field of grass and trees, fenced off from public access and belonging to the electric company which operates the dam. We felt the heaviness of the place, and watched the mist rising up from the falling waters.

Northeast

This location ties into the major alignment field from the Stellwagen Bank into Greenfield, Shelburne Falls, the Black Hills, and Mt Shasta, among other significant power places around the world.

Here we hiked under power lines once again, this time along the boundary of the Coca Cola bottling plant, where we dared to park beyond the no parking signs. Although this was a designated nature area, it seemed steeped in the orange chemical runnoff bubbling downhill into our path. We found a grove in the woods for our marker, and called in the grandmothers there. There was a palpable sense of the "other world" associated with this monument, adding another energy to the stone circle. The vibrations of trucks rumbling across a highway bridge could be felt reverberating through this place. We were observed by a large deer during our walk back to the car.

North

Our last stop was at another golf course, a place of community playtime, as well as a meeting place for the captains of industry. We placed the monument in the woods near the white clubhouse on the hill. The sound of pinging golfballs penetrated the airwaves here. A golf ball and an inchworm accompanied us back to the Northwest field where our journey began. We left them there to mark the completion of the circle.

Return to the Center

We circled the Middle School once more and returned to our home base, remarking at all the curiously smiling faces we noticed on passers by.

The center stone was placed upon a pillow for further instruction / discussion while we recuperated over tea. Our journey had been both invigorating and exhausting.

With the help of Peter's pendulum and the timely toppling of the stone, we learned that this monument wanted to stand in a public place of honor. The most notable location would be the NESEA energy park near the center of the commercial area in town. This is a place of playful celebration, and of the recognition of the history of Greenfield as a crossroads of industry and commerce, and now, we hope, a sacred site of peace, prayer, and reconciliation.

The Golden Secret

NONSENSE AS SALVATION

The human race will begin solving it's problems on the day that it ceases taking itself so seriously.

To that end, POEE proposes the countergame of NONSENSE AS SALVATION. Salvation from an ugly and barbarous existence that is the result of taking order so seriously and so seriously fearing contrary orders and disorder, that GAMES are taken as more important than LIFE; rather than taking LIFE AS THE ART OF PLAYING GAMES.

To this end, we propose that man develop his innate love for disorder, and play with The Goddess Eris. And know that it is a joyful play, and that thereby CAN BE REVOKED THE CURSE OF GREYFACE.

If you can master nonsense as well as you have already learned to master sense, then each will expose the other for what it is: absurdity. From that moment of illumination, a man begins to be free regardless of his surroundings. He becomes free to play order games and change them at will. He becomes free to play disorder games just for the hell of it. He becomes free to play neither or both. And as the master of his own games, he plays without fear, and therefore without frustration, and therefore with good will in his soul and love in his being.

And when men become free then mankind will be free.
May you be free of The Curse of Greyface.
May the Goddess put twinkles in your eyes.
May you have the knowledge of a sage,
and the wisdom of a child. Hail Eris.

Table golf

Stretch your intuitive muscles with this golf course designed by Hansi. Good for cars and cafés!

The rules are pretty simple:

1) Click on the picture below for a full sized image. Print it on a color printer. Number the holes yourself for a little variety.

2) Put your pencil on one of the stars. Close your eyes. Shoot for the hole. If you touch it, the ball's in (even if you keep drawing, as long as you don't go out of bounds or into a trap).

3) Penalties:
out of bounds - take the next stroke from the point where you went out
sand - take the next stroke with your opposite hand
water - lose a stroke
rocks - take the next stroke with your opposite hand & lose a stroke

4) Hooking a shot is OK, swirling it all over the place isn't.

5) Play with a friend, they can tell you to stop when you're out of bounds or in a trap.

6) Print another sheet and play the back 9. If you want more designs, send us an email.

Enjoy!

A brush with royalty

This just in from the Crested Butte News: my cousin's the queen of the Flauschink festival. Winter's over - yeeha!

flauschink2.jpg

Flauschink Poems 2005

We’re so glad you made it, we’re happy you’re here
The season has ended, it’s time for some cheer!
It’s been a long winter, we all must agree…
We’re flushing the season so Flauschink is key
Queen Lisa! King Joe! Your reign is all done
You served us so well, we hope you had fun!
As sad as it is, your job is now through
Let’s give them a hand and raise your glass too!
So now is the time to pass on the crown
There are royals amongst you, just look around…

Queen Tracey
Our soon-to-be queen is someone you know
A down to earth lady, a gal on the go
She’s been in the Butte forever it seems
Our queen is fun loving & follows her dreams
A cowgirl at heart, an equestrian queen
When it comes to peace rallies she’ll be on the scene
She loves her guitar, her voice is so sweet
Our royal plays music, her songs can’t be beat
She once wrote a song written of our small town
It was sung by John Denver and heard all around
Our queen is a driver for Mountain Express
A long blond-haired beauty, who’s dating John Hess
So now that you know who your new queen will be
Let’s all give it up for our new queen, Tracey!

King Snyder
And now it is time to bring up the king
Outgoing & witty, this guy’s on the scene
From camping to golfing to hunting for food
Our soon to be king is an out-doorsy dude
The man of the year is an all around guy
With him on your side, your well won’t run dry...
This hard working fellow, he sure gets around
He loves to play golf at the Talk of the Town
He wears a big smile-he’s helpful & sweet
When it comes to fundraising, he takes a front seat!
His wife is a dancer & attends all his “gigs”
He sings for the crowd while she dances her jigs!!
Our king loves his wife and he loves his guitar
His magical voice has brought him quite far
From the mountains back east to the mountains out west
He loves Crested Butte & you all know the rest...
So give a warm welcome to this bearded rock star
Get up here Steve Snyder-don’t run for the car!!
